It was a delight to read "Finding Phi" - a symbiosis of Abigail's report-writing skills in presenting technical details; depiction of conflicts between the main-stream life and the under-currents through human minds; the deepest emotions rendered through imagery of words at times, and the victory of good over evil - intricately woven in a thick plot.In the light of the legacy of "Agent Orange" being very much alive in the form of congenital defects in four generations of the affected four million Vietnamese and the words of McNamara, "We were wrong, terribly wrong....." still reverberating through the jungles, the book carries a vital message.

What a great book! This is the story we have been waiting for, with the intertwining of so many important concepts, it resonates in a deeply truthful way. I know everyone will enjoy reading this book as much as I did. It has the focus needed to help change the course of society by bringing our level of discourse up a notch. And it is a fun read that really draws you in! Congratulations to Abigail Beck on her first novel. Hopefully many more to come. Her insight is genius, distilling the most important issue of our day-environmental collapse-into a thrilling must read for everyone ages 8 to 88!
What a great read – educational and inspirational while entertaining! The author shares complex topics in small doses of conversational mode so we can learn without becoming bored or overwhelmed. The subject matter is serious making the leisure activity of enjoying a work of fiction more worthwhile because our awareness of important topics is enhanced. Knowledge is power, I appreciate the work of the author to share these possibilities with us so we may be more likely to think beyond what is apparent at the surface level.
A smart, fast-moving thriller which pours light on some of the most pressing issues of our time. We meet a woman who has been working behind the scenes for years trying to prove a case against a corporation with overweening power to potentially wreack havoc on the environment. We also get to know some people working at that corporation with differing levels of insight; as well as other characters drawn into the drama and impelled by their own values.
Philosophical discussions, quotes from Greek philosophers, and people falling in love flow seamlessly in the background of the urgency of the characters’ lives. The actual course of the novel takes place over a relatively short period in which the characters take actions that not only alter the course of their own lives but potentially humankind.
The story weaves in some interesting science to consider if one is environmentally conscious.
An amazing, well written, timely, tought provoking adventure book. I highly recommend it.
Really well created story of people involved in some of today's most important issues. Entertaining and interesting with a well thought out personal philosophy, scientific content and personal empathy flowing through the story. A very enjoyable read, on a strong topic.
