Whose parents abandon them in a trashy trailer when they are five years old? Oh Yeah! Mine do!

Hey Hoochies! I'm Milly, and I am tired of taking kicks to the gut. A broken family, an asshole husband and the loss of loved ones have left me crying Uncle, and declaring a serious case of the Fuck-Its!

I had my heart broken, stomped on and shattered before I ever started on my journey to find my little piece of happiness. With a bucket list, a '66 Ford and wild dreams, I set out on an adventure that changed my life forever.

I found Cree…

A pirate with a little princess and they swept me off my ever lovin' feet, filling my world with sprinkles, mac n’ cheese and the courage to live again.

They forced my fragile heart to trust and love without fear.

But the truth is, nobody’s past stays hidden forever. It’s an invisible monster waiting to attack and destroy. It has the capability to ruin everything you’ve worked to set right.

All it takes is one final blow to the gut to end everything…

Not sure what to say here. I was firmly Team Millie as the book started and I was happy when things began to go her way. The introduction of Millie as a child was touching and well done, as was her relationship with Frances. (Minor spoilers from here.) I tried not to be judgmental when Millie had a random encounter in a garage followed a really superficial relationship that started in a bar parking lot; both just seemed out of character and, let’s face it, risky. When Millie made it to her new home, I was happy when she forged a sister/friend bond with Lacey and, again, when Millie and Cree found each other. That happened later in the book than it should/could have imho. I could have done without the pages and pages of bows, headbands and tights, though. Annie was a delight, Olive was underplayed and seemed forgotten, and the “ho” language felt way overdone for me. While the appearance of Cree's significant other from college might have helped the plot line a little, the arrival of Millie's ex-husband didn't really serve a purpose and wasted space for me. On a positive note, the intimate moments were plentiful and made me want a fan…very well done there.

Millie and Cree were a good couple who formed a great family with others they loved but this book won’t stick with me. I truly enjoy this author but Cree, which had tons of potential, fell a bit flat and is not one that I’ll likely re-read.

CREE My Way Series Book 1 edition by HJ Bellus Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

Milly and Cree are super cute! I was drawn in with how spunky Milly was and then Cree and Annie stole my heart. I like that the drama and heavy stuff wasn’t a huge focal point and while it had its sad moments, it was still really laid back. I had some issues with the gloss over of some scenes. Like their vacations, and some moments that would have been amazing to see detailed moments and interaction with each other. Love the secondary characters and plan to read their story’s when o get time. It was a really cute read. 4 Stars #2OCCJD
This was a wonderful story with great characters and a nice happy ending.

Milly had horrible parents who at the age of five, left her abandoned in a trailer for several days before her Poppy finds her and raises her. In college, Milly meets who she thinks is the man of her dreams. Her marriage starts out perfect, but then the cheating and verbal abuse begins. However Milly stays because she adores and loves his crazy mom. When her mother-in-law dies and leaves Milly all her millions in inheritance, Milly leaves town with a bucket list in hand and in search of some happiness.

The town she finds is perfect. She opens her own business, becomes fast best friends with her new hairstylist Lacey and meets Cree who she's instantly attracted to. Cree is HOT! He is an absolute doll and one of the best leading guy characters I have read. At first Milly thinks he's married because he has a precious daughter. She soon learns he's a single dad, that he's interested in her and that's when things pick up.

Annie is Cree's daughter and she makes this book. You will fall in love with this adorable five year old sweetheart. Cree loves his daughter and is the perfect father. Soon Milly is right there with him and falls for both father and daughter.

Secondary characters, Lacey, Willow (Cree's sister) and Greyson (Cree's best friend) are great. You will laugh out loud when they all get together. It was so much fun to read and you never knew what they were going to do or say next.

No matter how much you wish the past stay that way, it has a way of creeping back up and trying to ruin the present. Both Milly's and Cree's past make an appearance. Will the strength of their love be enough to save them?

WONDERFUL book! Can't wait to read Tripp and Lacey's book next.
Milly's life has not been easy; her parents left her, her husband is a Bastard and the only woman who has ever loved her has died. But when Frances has left all her inheritance to Molly, she takes her advice, says "F*** It" and starts anew in a small town in Colorado.
She makes friends in her town town, including a single father with an adorable daughter.
Cree and Annie mended Milly' s broken heart and made her feel something she's missed out on her entire life...family. But what she needs to remember is family has pasts and rough times. The only thing that stays the same is her love for Annie.
I loved this story from beginning to end! There is no other words to say. Even the secondary characters made me fall in love with them. I can't wait to continue this series!
I'm still not sure what to make of this book. The first five chapters were...wow. I didn't really like Milly here. Her thoughts and the way she came across was quite funky and a completely different Milly than the rest of the book. I almost felt like I was reading a short story and then a totally different book. When she moved to the other town, things were happy-go-lucky for a very very long time. I didn't even know if there was going to be another conflict in the story or if this was a really long epilogue. It's hard to follow a book where I don't know what the main conflict is anymore. It wasn't until chapter 22 that Kyla taking Annie was brought up and there was finally a conflict within the story! But a few chapters later, this was resolved and I was lost again! Then the bastard shows up and beats the crap out of Milly (completely out of left field, by the way...could we not have had some inkling in there..this was waaay out there). There's the final conflict. It's resolved and everyone lives happily ever after.

It's just a weird set-up to me. I need more of a central, main conflict that's worked around (there can be smaller ones as well) and then all is resolved, or not. There were definitely times where I got the "feels" with this couple, which is why it got an "ok" rating, but as a whole, the book was off.
